~Simple Cakes~
One mini bite consists of 36 pcs mini cupcake and one box of medium size cupcake ordered from E'da......she asked for just a simple decoration with lite purple in color....so i did nothing fancy....it's really a very simple deco, with the mini bite has an extra ganache on it as requested.
Simple chocolate cake....with only wordings on it.....this time i did not spread the ganache as usual, i let the ganache cool and harden a bit and then only i use spatula to cover the cake......really....really simple.....

~An Investment In Knowledge~

This time it is not about teaching, but i am learning.......it's my hubby who sent me to this course......since it's his treat, i thought why not.........hubby said, go....just go.....you like it, you do it.....do not limit yourself.....it's ok to keep on gaining knowledge.......you would loose nothing.....everyday is always a learning process for me.......

It was a tiring day actually.....class started at 9 am until 7 pm.....but the knowledge is priceless.....the beginning of knowledge is the discovery of something we do not understand, as a quote from someone i have once read. I have to admit everyday is still a learning process for me but knowing is not enough, we must apply it.......
However, remember this quote from Albert Einstein :

Happy Birthday for this little fan of RockMan.....when his mum told me to draw this cartoon....i was like 'uhh...never heard one....' what cartoon is that.....hehehe.....so when i got home, the only person that i can actually ask about this, of course, my boy....along.......i asked him to double check whether this cartoon is what my fren meant or did i mistaken it for the mega man......

Sorry aaa......i forgot to bring back my camera during today's lunch time....since customer will come over to my house to pick up the cake before i got home this evening, so i had to snap the picture earlier during lunch time using my phone camera (coz that's the only time i am available and will be at home during that hectic working hours)....that's why the picture is of a very poor quality.....however, enjoy the pics....

~Ice Cream Strawberry~
So, i stumbled upon the recipe from Mat Gebu.....but I found the recipe in other's blog using Mat Gebu's recipe.....well i thought, hmm why not give it a try.....my kids have been asking me when am i going to start making the ice cream.....i think the recipe is quite easy, so i pick it for my experiment.
However, here is the result....the ice cream is tremendously delicious.....very sweet but it is supposed to be that way.....it's ice cream right? hehe.....
For those who don't have any ice cream maker, don't worry....ice cream maker is actually meant for someone lazy like me.....hahaha......you can use you ordinary mixer to make it......
Ice Cream Strawberry
270 gm coffeemate
500 ml fresh milk
120 gm gula castor
150 gm strawberry (patutnya 300 gm ya....mine tak cukup, kalu nak cuba, cukupkan 300 gm)
Blend strawberry ngan sedikit fresh milk. Campurkan kesemua bahan dan kacau sebati. Tuangkan ke dalam ice cream maker dan biarkan ia berputar sehingga ia mengeras.
If you all nak guna mixer:
Putar semua bahan dengan mixer hingga sebati. Masukkan dlm bekas dan simpan dlm fridge hingga hampir beku. Keluarkan, putar lagi dengan mixer hingga ia gebu. Simpan semula dlm bekas.

Masukkan ayam ke dalam periuk yang berisi air. Biar mendidih sebentar. Masukkan bunga cengkih, bunga lawang, kayu manis dan pelaga. Masukkan bahan yang digoreng tadi ke dalam periuk berisi ayam. Masukkan serbuk sup, ubi kentang dan bawang besar. Akhir sekali masukkan tomato, daun sup, daun bawang dan perasakan dengan garam @ gula mengikut citarasa.

~A Special Request From A Special Friend~
The simplest deco ever crossed my mind.....i was thinking of doing something simple yet quite unique, something that maybe i have never attempted to do so.....but what happened was i had no idea at all of what i am going to do......afted finished the baking, i went to sleep....wasn't feeling that well last night.....however i changed my mind....went back to the kicthen.....and started mixing the buttercream.....i am not very satisfied with the result from the kitchenaid mixer....surely it cannot compete my kenwood at all when it comes to the energy and power. It took time, a longer mixing time with the kitchenaid.
Meanwhile, this is another design, part from the order.......the above is for hantaran, the one below is for her children at home.
~When Did I Start All This Cake Decorating~
Aku mula terjun seriously dlm biz ni sekitar tahun 2005 kalau aku tak silap ler....mmg dah lama.....masa tu seingat aku, tak ada lagi orang yg seriously dlm cake decorating via dunia tenet ni sekitar utara. Kedai2 tu of course ler dah banyak, tp yg biz online ni ada beberapa kerat jer termasuk aku. Kemudian dari situ ramai yg suka reiki2 dari aku dan aku willingly share dengan mereka. Aku sempat aktif dkt forum Cari, kemudian menjadi moderator untuk satu forum masakan yg dikuasai geng2 singaporean. Tp sekarang aku dah tak aktif dengan forum2 ni sumer sbb terikat dengan masa. Sekarang mereka yg suka reiki2 ni dah pun jadi cikgu2 pulak, cuma aku jer yang masih berada di takuk yang sama sbb aku tak minat nak mengajar. Bukan tak suka kongsi ilmu tp aku tak suka mengajar. But soon aku terpaksa ler ubah statement tu.....(perhatian ya......still aku tak akan bukak kelas tp aku alukan apa2 pertanyaan via online hehe......)
Sapa yg kawan ngan aku tahu aku suka bimbing dia orang......dah ramai pun yg dah yakin untuk mula mengaktifkan diri di dapur. Aku ni tak kedekut ilmu tau......jangan lak ada yang siap query camne aku leh reti buat........ini sama kes mcm belajar dulu tau......nak jadikan citer, bidang kami ni mmg selalu kena praktis menaip.....tp aku ni salah sorang yang tak pernah turun praktis kat bilik menaip......tp bila aku score markah penuh dlm ujian, depa sumer heran......depa kata aku tak pernah turun praktis......mcm mana leh score.......skill ya.....ini skill....bagi aku first lesson is the main ingredient, x perlu ulang2 belajar..... dan yg paling utama sebenarnya aku tak suka menghabiskan ribbon typewriter aku utk latihan......masa tu duit bukan ler mudah dapat.......aku simpan ribbon untuk peperiksaan akhir....sbb tu aku tak turun berlatih.
Salah sorang teman aku yang suka baking adalah teman masa study aku si Tina. Dia mmg suka reiki mcm2 resipi, dah mmg reti tp tak berani nak ke depan.....dulu2 jenuh aku paksa, siap aku hadiahkan mcm2 nak soh dia belajar lagi advance. Pastu aku paksa dia soh belajar deco, mcm2 alasan dia bagi.... Penat tau paksa budak ni......dah bertahun......skrg jer baru dia berani......dan dah ada pelanggan sendiri dah pun. Dah siap advance dr aku lagi tu tempah stamp pad.....aku pun tak dak hahaha. Adakah aku kedekut ilmu atau takut dia curi pelanggan aku gitu? Hehe.....dok ya......dia dok tak jauh pun dari aku, kiranya patut aku bimbang kot kena cantas dek dia....tp aku percaya ngan rezeki. Buat kerja biar ikhlas dari hati......
Nampaknya yang dah berjaya sudah pun melupakan aku tapi itu tidak pernah membuat aku kecil hati. Sekarang pun kalu cuba2 reiki resipi ngan depa pun dah tentu2 tak mau share.....adat ler orang melayu kan.....takut satgi aku pintas jalan ler kot.......pastu yang lawak tu siap bagitau takut cikgu depa marah share2 resipi.....sampai tahap tu kedekut ilmu ya.....kalu nak tahu pun kena mai kelas dulu, kena bayar......hehe.....ini pun terjadi gak pada chef2 besar kat mesia ni......jangan ler tanya cara atau hal lain selain modul kat kelas, mmg tak mau citernya.......sbb sumer berbayar......tp bagi aku tak ada hal.....ilmu untuk dikongsi....orang tanya aku ajar....
Sewaktu aku mengikuti kursus ngan MARA, aku sudah pun aktif dengan biz aku. Jadi, nak kata dari situ pemangkin aku terjun ke dunia biz ni, tak ler jugak. Cuma masa tu aku tak kenal teknik2 biz ngan tenet ni lagi. Kiranya aku bermula dengan biz ini tanpa mengenal apa itu tenet. Boleh ler nak dikatakan bahawasanya aku bermula dengan zero knowledge, tanpa belajar dengan mana2 individu tetapi dek kerana minat yang sejak kecil telah aku ada, maka aku berdikit2 sendiri. Kalau hendak dikira gagal, rasanya sudah berkali2.....itu adat.
Walaupun pada perancangan asalnya aku akan melapor diri untuk menyambung pelajaran tetapi dengan pilihan yang diberi oleh suami, membuat aku berfikir berulang kali. Apa tujuannya aku hendak sambung belajar, kata suamiku sekiranya aku benar2 ingin menambah ilmu, dia cadangkan aku belajar sesuatu yang berkaitan dengan minatku. Aku terpaksa menolak tawaran yg ada dan menerima cadangan suami yang akhirnya membiayai kursus aku di ICCA. Itu pun setelah 4 tahun aku serius dalam dunia hiasan kek!! Aku pergi menambah ilmu kerana rata-rata orang luar memandang rendah pada keupayaan aku walaupun aku mempunyai pengalaman yang mungkin lebih lama dari tokey2 kek yang sedang rancak berniaga sekarang di samping sudah pun rancak buat kelas pulak. Orang lain sememangnya lebih jauh berilmu dari segi kutipan sijil kerana aku tidak berdaya hendak mengumpul sijil di dalam portfolio aku. Pertama, aku cuma berurusniaga secara sambilan sahaja, Kedua, anak2 aku yang 3 itu pun masih kecil dan amat memerlukan perhatian aku sepenuhnya, Ketiga....aku sendiri tidak ada masa yang berlebihan untuk 'mengulangkaji' apa yang aku telah belajar di kelas, jadi rujukan aku paling terdekat hanyalah buku - rugi gak aku pi kelas bila x dapat nak praktik. Keempat, itu semua memakan modal sedangkan aku perlukan modal itu untuk digunakan bagi pelbagai keinginan aku yang lain.
Bercerita tentang pengalaman, tempahan pertama yang aku terima adalah dari rakan sekerja @ sahabat baik aku, bermula sblm fp aku dilahirkan. Kemudia baru ler fotopages aku lahir yang aku namakan sempena nama anak aku yang bongsu iaitu http://babybatriesyia.fotopages.com/ , mmg seronok ya tatkala melihat fp aku sentiasa dikunjungi dan sentiasa berada di dalam senarai 99 most popular fp saat itu.....apa lagi dapat berkongsi pelbagai ilmu dengan rakan2 dunia siber......tp aku dah tinggalkan sumer tu......itu sumer dah jadi kenangan.
Pasal tempahan kek ni, rakan aku ler penggerak semangat sebenarnya. Tempahan pun tak ubah untuk membantu aku memahirkan diri. Waktu itu aku masih merangkak-rangkak, kalau bermain dengan buttercream pun, tidak pernah ada yang menjadi......walaupun tika itu ku rasakan buruknya hiasan aku, tapi tidak pernah sekali pun sahabat-sahabat ku ini mengutuk atau mematahkan semangat aku. Walaupun awal2 dulu hubby tak sokong sangat, tp skrg ni Alhamdulillah ler......kalu tak de dia, susah gak sbb dia ler jadi supir aku sekarang ke hulu ke hilir. Hehe....itu ayat hubby aku ler......dia kata dia jadi drebar aku.......tp apa pun tq aaa papa.....oven besar kat umah tu pun dia yang hadiahkan untuk aku.....

Ini ler antara first kek yang aku deco untuk kawan aku (aku lupa mana satu yg pertama kali buat...hehe) Masa tu aku tak ada tools atau kelengkapan yang cukup untuk deco ala2 extravaganza. Buat pun ala2 nak nampak mudah jer.
Sebenarnya semua yang aku buat ni mmg hobi2 aku......aku mmg suka baking2 ni sejak kecik lagi, dulu2 biskut raya pun aku ler tokey nya.....sbb aku sorang jer yg rajin membuat......adik2 aku sumer x minat nak tolong......buat pun yg dia orang nak makan jer.....tiap kali raya mesti makcik2 aku tunggu apa jenis cookies yang aku explore lak......sbb aku ni suka benor mencuba......paling kurang atas meja sampai 12 jenis aku buat tiap kali raya.......makcik2 aku mesti try satu2 tiap cookies tu......pastu aku mmg suka jahit2 ni, sbb sblm aku rajin baking2 seriously ni, aku mmg selalu attend kursus menjahit......personally pi belajar pun aku pernah, siap hubby aku pi reiki kedai jahit soh ambik aku jadi pelajar.....pernah aku usung anak kecik aku atas riba sbb nak belajar menjahit.....tiap2 minggu aku drive ngan baby masa tu.....kalu ikut aku boleh menjahit mcm2 tp skrg aku tak cukup masa jer rasanya......upah pun pernah aku ambik sejak aku dok kat kelantan lagi sekitar tahun 1997......aku pun pernah ambik upah buat cross stitch......aku ni suka sumer pasal seni dan kraf....dalam famili aku pun kebanyakan sepupu sepapat aku terjun dalam bidang2 gini, cousin aku Azliza yg dok kat Damansara mmg aktif ngan gubahan walaupun dia kerja tetap jadi cikgu, citer dia pun pernah masuk paper.......sepupu aku ni glamer sikit tak mcm aku, aku reserved jer.....lagi orang tak kenal lagi aku suka.......tp bukan ler aku sombong, dah mmg aku gitu.....masa kat itm pun tak dak org kenal pun......hmm ada gak famili aku yang mmg kreatif mencanting batik dan biz batik......cuma bidang seni tang menyanyi ni aku tak de ler reti sbb sore aku tak sedap, jadi aku nyanyi dalam jamban jer.....ahaks......tu pun kalu katak dengar mmg hujan ler......hahaha.....bab melukis lak, aku rasa aku mewarisi bakat arwah abah dalam soal2 melukis ni.....begitu jugak adik2 aku.....teringat lak kat arwah cikgu jefri yang selalu menggalakkan aku aktif melukis......tp sayang, aku kurang yakin waktu itu....

When she said she wants a bear on the cupcake, i suggested to her to do this miniature coz i have been longing to do it again.....you know what happen when you tend to leave the skill behind for so long.....I almost forgot all the steps!!
These two miniatures that i made was prepared just this morning. It's a case of letting things aside when you don't feel like doing it. That is what had happened to me last night. After finish decorating that cake and the cupcake, something inside telling me that the miniatures can be done later. So this is what happened.....i packed up few things coz i made those miniatures at my office!! hehe.....sorry boss......hahaha.....
p/s while finishing the cake, i noticed the wordings to be a bid weird....it is supposed to be like that or did i read it wrong via sms? when i checked, it is .mj not .my. Still not satisfied, i texted her.....is it .mj.....not .my? Yes...it's .mj.....oooo what a stupid question to ask hahaha......when the text already written that way, so just follow aaa....

~Today is "Buy Nothing Day"~
The actual 'buy nothing day' is to be held during November but FOMCA had organized it to be celebrated today. As a consumer, it's our duty to actually restrain ourselves from going out for shopping and it's the time to 'hang' our credit card.
Well, this isn’t just about changing our habits for one day but about starting a lasting lifestyle commitment to consuming less and producing less waste. It is important for society to examine the issue of over-consumption. I know it is really impossible to just go on and buy more and more useless stuff. It’s about time to really think about our consumption and try to buy less but better products.
It is important for us to think twice when buying things, by actually making a comparison of which item really helps you to energy-saving one or not. Of course i myself loves shopping, but maybe it's time to actually stop and think about our spending by only buying things that we only needed.
So parts of the step as mentioned by FOMCA is:
- Bring food or snacks from home
- Use public transport (which i cannot agree most....sorry....coz public transportation here is very bad.....if i do use it, i might not be in office in time)
- Spend the day with family (today is working day)
- Go to the public library instead to a bookstore
- Design your own wedding card or birthday card
- Don't use credit cards
So, all the best in participate by not participating.....hehe...can we prove that we women do not have a bit of what they called 'emotional disease' especially when it comes to shopping.....

Later on the other day, i noticed there were 2 smsses from Linda that night.....didn't realize about the sms coz i got back a bit late and didn't take out my phone from my bag.....Linda said the plaque was broken at the middle while she was trying to arrange it in another box......she don't know what to do.....well....i don't know what to do also.....i asked her to try to attach it together and alter it with water to glue it. It was impossible to take out the plaque coz underneath it was the chocolate.....i hope Linda manage to find a way to correct it.......

~Gulai Siput~

Nak dijadikan cerita, hari minggu ni hujannya lebat amat.....so ingatnya hendak ke Nat (Pasar Sehari) berdekatan dengan rumah.....rasanya mau cari sedikit sayur2 untuk dimasak tengahari nanti.....walaupun rasa malas nampak meredah hujan tp peduli ler.....lagipun nak naik kereta bukan jalan kaki......
Tak banyak yang berniaga kecuali yang berjualan barang2 basah sahaja.....jalan punya jalan......(sbb tak tahu pulak nak cari apa).....terus terjumpa cik siput ni.....alahai......aku ni teringin benor nak makan siput ni......jarang sungguh nak jumpa siput bendang ni......kalu takat siput belitung tu mmg banyak tapi aku tak suka siput tu......sekilo cuma RM3 sahaja......dlm kepala dah terbayang, peberet aku cuma masak kuning tu jer.....macam gulai lemak ler......sejak dulu dah biasa masak siput mesti letak daun kadok......aiseh....cari punya cari tak jumpa lak orang jual.....dulu2 aku tanam tapi skrg susah lak nak hidup......bagi aku tak dak daun kadok tak sah masak gulai siput ni......
Nasib baik cik abe kata nak balik umah abang dia kejap nak jenguk orang meninggal dkt sana.....jadi aku pesan tolong ambilkan daun kadok ni....kat kg mmg mudah nak cari.......walaupun tak banyak daun yg ada sbb abang ipar aku pun dah banyak buang pokok tu tp janji ada rasa ok ler.....gulai tu pun dah siap aku masak sblm letak daun kadok.....lepas sejam siap baru taruk daun tu sbb cik abe balik lambat lak....

*Make sure rendam dahulu siput ngan cili padi untuk membuang apa2 kotoran di dalamnya....dan kemudian gunakan hampas kelapa untuk mencuci siput dari kotoran.....tenyeh jer kuat2....hehe

~My New Gadget~
Hmmm.....this kitchenaid is not meant for my biz.....hehe.....i bought it coz i like the colour......i will only use it for small jobs only....heheeh (so what the used of buying it??....don't know)......i already have a big one to handle most of the job in the kitchen specially to mix my cookie dough....and another medium one by Kenwood to do a super duper job of mixing....i still rely on my kenwood to do most of my jobs....do ignore my greediness coz this is part of my wishlist.....and once it's in the list, i really must get one to clear the list.....hahaha......

Actually i am comparing this one with kenwood patissier that has 12 speed.....kitchenaid has 10 speed only....both is red in colour.....just alike....but kitchenaid bowl capacity is 4.7 litre, meanwhile kenwood is only 4 litre...and again of the same model, kenwood is much more cheaper.....i think if you manage to make your survey, kenwood patissier is cheaper up to RM500 compared to kitchenaid!!.....so....choose what suits you best.....

This is a kenwood ice cream maker that i just bought.....ghee.....can i say that i do love kenwood gadgets.......coz i have a lot of it in the kitchen......i don't know why i bought it hehehe.....thought of making my own ice cream.....perhaps to make life easier......muahmuahmuaaa.......so....hoping to see an ice cream in the next entry.....perhaps.......
p.s. can i say these are all as a birthday gift for me.....self bought and self rewarding....ghee.....

~Tepung Pelita~
TEPUNG PELITA
ambil dari myresepi.com
Bahan-bahan ( 20 cups- bergantung pd saiz bekas )
• 1 cawan tepung beras
• 1 cawan gula
• 5 cawan air
• 4 sudu besar tepung beras (ratakan)
• 1 biji kelapa diperah jadi 4 cawan santan
• 4 helai daun pandan dimesin dgn sedikit air
• sedikit garam
• sedikit air kapur
Cara-cara membuat adunan yg warna hijau
1. Tepung (1 cawan) , air, gula, air daun pandan dan air kapur dibancuh hingga sebati.
2. Masakkan tepung yg diadun dan kacau hingga masak dan berkilat.
3. Bila dah masak masukkan dalam acuan yang disukai. Kalau daun pisang lagi sedap.
Cara-cara membuat adunan yg warna putih
1. Perah santan, masukkan tepung yg 4 sudu tadi dan garam. Kacau sehingga sebati dan ketepikan.
2. Masak santan yg diadun tadi dan kacau sehingga pekat.
3. Angkat santan dan curah ke atas tepung yg di dalam acuan tadi.
4. Sejukkan

80 gm gula icing
Secubit garam
160 gm tepung gandum
110 gm ghee
50 gm serbuk almond
1 biji telur kuning (utk glaze)
Manik (utk hiasan)
Putar semua bahan hingga sebati. Jangan terlebih pukul nanti biskut jadi keras. Biarkan doh dlm bekas tertutup selama 2 jam kemudian baru diterap. Adonan biskut ini lembut, x apa....bila lepas bakar, dah sejuk nanti dia very crunchy. Bakar selama 15 minit pada suhu 170-180'C.
